Privacy Policy

Last Updated: November 3, 2025

At TechieNexum, we review tech and recommend products. We also make money through affiliate links. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information and respect your privacy.

What Data We Collect (And Why)

We collect information two ways: stuff you give us, and stuff we track automatically.

Information You Provide:

  • Email address (if you subscribe to our newsletter – optional)

  • Name (only if you contact us)

  • Any feedback or messages through our contact form

  • Payment info if you buy anything from us in the future

Information We Collect Automatically:

  • Your IP address

  • Browser type and version

  • Pages you visit on TechieNexum

  • Time spent on each page

  • Which links you click

  • Your approximate location (based on IP)

  • Device information (phone, tablet, or desktop)

  • Referrer (what brought you to our site)

Why we collect this?

  • Understand which tech reviews are most popular

  • See which products interest readers

  • Fix technical issues

  • Track affiliate clicks and sales

  • Improve our content

Cookies and Tracking – What's Actually Happening

Be honest: cookies can be creepy. Here's what's really going on at TechieNexum.

Our Cookies:

  • Essential cookies (keep you logged in if you have an account someday)

  • Analytics cookies (Google Analytics – tracking which pages you visit)

  • Preference cookies (remember your settings)

Affiliate Cookies (Third-Party):
This is where affiliate tracking happens. When you click an Amazon, Flipkart, or other retailer link:

  • Their cookie is placed on your device

  • It tracks your browsing on their site

  • If you buy within 24-90 days, we earn a commission

  • The cookie expires after the tracking window

You're in control:

  • Disable cookies in your browser settings

  • Use privacy browsers (DuckDuckGo, Brave, Firefox Private)

  • Use ad blockers that block tracking

  • Enable "Do Not Track" in your browser

  • Clear cookies anytime

Important: Blocking cookies won't stop us from earning commissions if you buy directly – it just means they can't track you.

How We Use Your Data

For the Site:

  • Display relevant content to you

  • Improve our reviews and recommendations

  • Fix bugs and technical issues

  • Understand user behaviour

  • Send you newsletters (if you opt-in)

  • Respond to your messages

For Affiliate Marketing:

  • Track which links you click

  • Monitor which products get clicks

  • Calculate commission earnings

  • Report to affiliate networks

  • Improve our affiliate strategy

We Do NOT:

  • Sell your data to advertisers

  • Share your email with third parties

  • Use your data for targeted ads (we're not an ad network)

  • Track you across other websites

  • Store sensitive personal information

Third-Party Services We Use

Google Analytics: Tracks how you use the site (pages, time spent, clicks). Google has its own privacy policy – check it if you want details.

Email Service Provider: If you subscribe to our newsletter, your email goes to our email provider (Mailchimp, ConvertKit, or similar). They store it securely and only use it to send you our emails.

Affiliate Networks: Amazon, Flipkart, and other retailers receive data about clicks and purchases. This is how we earn commissions.

Hosting Provider: Our site is hosted on a server. The host may collect technical data for Site stability.

Contact Form: Messages you send go to our email inbox. We keep them confidential.

Ad Networks (Future): If we add display ads later, ad networks may place cookies to show relevant ads.

Data Retention – How Long We Keep Stuff

Newsletter subscribers: Kept until you unsubscribe, then deleted within 30 days

Contact form messages: Kept for 1 year, then deleted

Analytics data: Kept for 2 years automatically (Google Analytics default)

Affiliate tracking cookies: Expires 24-90 days depending on the retailer

You can request deletion anytime. Email us at contact

Your Data Rights – What You Can Do

In India:
Under Indian law, you have the right to know what data we have about you. Request it anytime.

In the EU:
You have stronger rights under GDPR:

  • Right to access your data

  • Right to correct inaccurate data

  • Right to delete your data

  • Right to download your data (data portability)

  • Right to object to processing

In California & USA:
Similar rights under CCPA.

How to exercise your rights:
Email us: Contact with "Privacy Request" in the subject line. Tell us what you want (access, deletion, correction). We'll respond within 30 days.

Security – We Try, But Nothing's Perfect

We use:

  • HTTPS (encrypted connection when you visit)

  • Secure servers

  • Limited access to personal data

  • Regular security updates

Real talk: No website is 100% secure. The internet has risks. If you're worried, use a VPN.

Children's Data – Important

TechieNexum is for anyone interested in tech. If you're under 13, ask your parents before using the site or sharing data.

If we discover someone under 13 gave us personal data, we'll delete it immediately. Parents: if this happens to your kid, contact us.

International Data and GDPR

For EU/UK Visitors:
We comply with GDPR. Your data may be transferred outside the EU for processing (to India or other servers). We ensure proper safeguards – essentially, your rights travel with your data.

Your GDPR rights:

  • Access: Get a copy of your data

  • Rectification: Fix inaccurate data

  • Erasure: Delete your data

  • Restrict: Limit what we do with it

  • Portability: Download your data

  • Object: Say no to certain processing

  • Withdraw consent: Take back permission you gave

Contact us to exercise any of these rights.

Third-Party Links and Privacy

TechieNexum links to Amazon, Flipkart, manufacturer sites, and other tech sites. We're not responsible for their privacy practices.

When you click a link and leave TechieNexum:

  • Their privacy policy applies, not ours

  • They may collect more data than we do

  • We can't control what they do with your data

Check their privacy policies before shopping.

No Comments Section Yet

TechieNexum doesn't have user comments. If we add them later, we'll update this policy.

Affiliate Affiliate Cookie Tracking – Expanded

How affiliate cookies work in detail:

  1. You read a tech review on TechieNexum

  2. You click our Amazon or Flipkart link

  3. You're redirected to their site (the URL shows the redirect)

  4. Their tracking cookie is placed on your device

  5. You browse their site for 30 minutes

  6. You add a phone to your cart

  7. You buy the phone

  8. Within 24-90 days, we earn a commission

  9. The cookie expires

What data gets shared?

  • That you clicked our link

  • That you made a purchase

  • The product and price (so we can track commission)

  • That's it – they don't share your personal data back to us

You can see this happening:

  • Amazon links show tag=techienexum in the URL

  • Flipkart links show our affiliate ID

Want to avoid affiliate tracking?

  • Go directly to the retailer's website

  • Type in the URL yourself

  • Use privacy browsers

  • Block third-party cookies

Email Communications and Newsletter

If you subscribe to our newsletter:

  • You'll get tech reviews and recommendations

  • No spam, just genuine content

  • Unsubscribe anytime (link in every email)

  • We won't share your email with anyone

  • You control frequency and preferences

Ads and Future Monetization

Right now, we only use affiliate links. In the future, we might add:

  • Display ads (Google AdSense or similar)

  • Sponsored content (always clearly marked)

  • Other affiliate networks

If we add ads:

  • Ad networks may place cookies

  • They use your data to show relevant ads

  • We won't receive your personal data

  • You can control this through your privacy settings

Sponsored content will be labeled. We won't hide it.
